What is the appropriate price-range for gifts for parents of the bride and groom?

My fiance and I are splitting the costs of our wedding 3 way with us, my parents, and his parents. What is the normal price range for thank you gifts for parents who are contributing equally as yourself to the big event?

I would say $30.00-50.00, 30.00 if you are getting them each something and 50.00 if it's something for both of them.

I am getting married in July and I am trying to think of the perfect gift to get my parents. I want to really make an impression and touch their hearts. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Flowers or a giant canvas photograph with the family + you in it.

Something honorary.. so they can hang it up at home.

My cousin was studying his Phd in Hanover,He married his german colleague,He will come in a visit.

my classmate/friend at college just invited me to her wedding. she didnt include a wedding registry slip so i dont think she registered. what do i do about the gift then? do i giver her cash in a card? and how much is enough?

weddings are expensive and most prefer money
It depends on where the wedding reception is held.
If its in a church hall, it can run $30 to $50 a person
if its in a hotel, it goes up from there
we usually give $75 per person, to cover the food and drinks

Celebrating 50 Years

 Fifty years ago, a young bride flew from south Louisiana to an army base in Boston, Massachusetts, where she wed her sweetheart who had enlisted in the army six months prior.  She flew to Germany to join him, and they spent the next two years living in Germany while he served in the army.  Soon afterwards, she flew back to Louisiana, and he was sent to Germany.  They were married in the chapel on the army base.  It took six months, but they were finally reunited again when he found a small, one room apartment for them....
