Taylor Tomasi Hill (or TTH as she’s come to be known) is one of those fashion girls who seems to be doing a million things at once: As the artistic director at Moda Operandi , she is responsible for the shopping site’s editorial content; you probably know her best from looking at any street style blog–where her scarlet hair and standout style make her an easy target; but you might not know that she’s also the creative consultant for Sigerson Morrison shoes. Yep, that’s a lot of (very stylish) hats.

So last evening, at the Bowery Hotel, Sigerson Morrison presented their (vast) fall collection at a party hosted by Tomasi Hill and the Street Peeper’s Phil Oh. And while we overheard TTH tell a fellow editor that she was on a “cleanse day” her enthusiasm for the shoe label overpowered any (probable) faintness she was feeling after a day filled with only juice.

“It wasn’t necessarily about changing [Sigerson Morrison], it was about taking a brand and moving it in a direction that targets more women—especially differentiating Belle [the label’s diffusion line] as the two collections were overlapping a lot,” she told us. “These are shoes that cater to different times in a woman’s life.”

All products and communication are sent in plain unmarked packaging.”) and hope for some celebrity-level intervention to address their height problem, Allan Donnelly casts special molds and selects insole materials that will not collapse under the weight of the wearer. “I believe what sets me apart from others is that my insert is made from polyurethane rubber and will never squish down. Other manufacturers (90 percent of elevator shoes makers are based in China) use ethylene-vinyl acetate foam, which will squash down after a few days, making the shoes less comfortable and the wearer lose the height boost.”

Donnelly doesn’t seem like the kind of businessman who bandies the word “transparency” about in the course of his outreach, but his approach to marketing himself is heavily process-oriented and so, by default, somewhat transparent. He posts photo sets of his studio on Tumblr and videos of his collections in the making on YouTube. The short films offer a great glimpse of the many meticulous steps involved in constructing a leather shoe (though you won’t miss the soundtrack if you mute it). He also uses social media to address customer complaints and comment rage, posting them to Tumblr with a personal response. “Some people are impatient as it sometimes takes time to make the shoes.”
