Thanks for the digi processing work Sam =)
What a wonderful street to stumble upon on a rainy Saturday! The reflections created from the wet road made the photograph turn out much better than it would have been if it hadn't rained. I really wanted them to look, feel and act more...

What stores/websites do you recommend/suggest for dresses?

I am looking for a dress for a wedding. I have looked at Bebe, Cache, BCBG, and Asos.com etc. and still haven't found anything I like. Do you know anywhere else where I can find a nice dress?
Please don't suggest stores like Forever 21,
Nordstrom as well as Macy's always have great and classy dresses that are usually in your price range. Depending on your age and how you feel about your style, check in the juniors as well as womens sections for the best selection. The stores often have different stock than online so it's wise to check both. Good luck and I hope you find a beautiful

My fiance is being extremely picky about our wedding!?
Apr 06, 2011 by Anonymous | Posted in Weddings
The following are mostly just the things related to my appearance that he's being picky about--he's doing it with everything else too, and doesn't seem to trust that I'll look great no matter what, especially since he says I have great taste.
Pick out some REDICULOUS suit for him to wear. Like, seriously, find the most absolutely crazy looking suit you can possibly find. Make sure it is some obscene shade of teal or something, has insane huge lapels, one of those ruffley shirts that they wore in the 70s, and if you can find one with some crazy hat involved too, go for it.

This is what you do: You either:
Marry this man and be controlled for the rest of your life until you cannot take it anymore and end up leaving him so you are allowed to take a breath without permission.
Or, run for the hills while you still can.
You would be a total and complete fool to marry this man.

Today I tried out for X-Factor in Newark?
Apr 14, 2011 by Mademoiselle | Posted in Singing
I waited in line yesterday for 3 hrs in the cold/wet rain
THEN today I got to the arena at 5:30am...stood outside for 4hrs and then didn't audition until 1pm
I sang to ONE lady....I have an awesome voice and I am a trained
I just got back from Newark and I'm more than sorry to tell you that even though you may get in line first, pre-dawn, and wait 8+ hours, its random where they seat you and then call your section - the first sections got most f the tickets and by 3pm 95% were gone, making thousands audition until past 9pm for NOTHING. This is the straight up, hard, cold

Collinsville woman's gown goes from bridal to baptismal

The silk organza gown had a scoop neckline, heavy beading and 3/4-length sheer sleeves. The long, detachable train was scalloped and had seed pearls. "I researched it," said Jean, "and found the dress was at Le Petite dress shop at Northland Shopping Center in St. Louis." She didn't try on another gown. "We bought it right then and there. I know it was under $200." Jean and Gregory had a son, Gary, in 1965. She was pregnant with her second child in 1969 when she came across the neatly packed wedding dress during a move. She and her seamstress sister-in-law Lorraine Bedalow found a doll's dress pattern and fashioned a christening dress from the gown's train. "Our christening dress was beautiful," said Jean, 69, who is retired from Bank of America. "Our little Karen looked like a real live doll in the dress, she was so beautiful and sweet." In 2005,her first grandchild, a girl named Bronwen Zacharski, wore the christening gown. "To my surprise, the dress had not even yellowed. Once again, a little princess got to wear the dress.

Reasons to be cheerful – a sizzling summer of hot stuff and soccer

Some say this weather is a judgment from on high, a rebuke to the hubris of fools who thought winter had been avoided, just this once. Others, who toil on Bay Street, say it is the work of the Ontario NDP, part and parcel of the Dippers’ plan to force the minority government to tax the super-rich. They bring bad weather, the Dippers. And others, those who thought on the weekend that it was time to mow the lawn again, merely wonder what the hell just happened. It is, then, a time to think about summer. Yes, summer. Days of wine and roses. Or, as happens hereabouts, days of whine and poses. My own plans involve spending all of June in Poland and Ukraine, covering the Euro 2012 tournament for this great newspaper. Hotel prices in the Ukraine are in the Bev Oda-preferred range, so expect some reports to emanate from park benches and the back of the bus that goes around Kiev all night. The Euro tournament will take up a lot of TV time – and talk – in June. This brings us, at last, to thoughts of summer television.

The 3 Reasons You Love Ryan Gosling, and the Dresses You Should Wear When You Get Saved By Him.
Surely, SURELY, this person has drawn Ryan Gosling in a way that honors the huge gym commitment he makes. if someone took it upon themselves to be the person credited with creating a super hero comic about Ryan Gosling, well then surely they’ve taken the task to heart. More specifically, it’s a super hero Ryan Gosling comic. What she told me, was that there is a comic out about Ryan Gosling. SURELY they’ve worked tirelessly to depict Ryan as he is seen through the eyes of those who love him. Cause if you’re me you’re thinking, “gosh....

Review: Cambridge Places - From Pubs to Cocktail Bars...
Ignoring the miserable weather outside, and determined that summer is on it's way, we kicked off proceedings with a couple of strawberry-laced summer cocktails and toasted a hard afternoon spent trying on wedding dresses (me) and holding back... First stop, and at the top of my 'must-visit' list of Cambridge pubs, was The First and Last...

Breaking Down, Book One: Bella, Chapter 1 - Engaged
“Childhood is not from birth to a certain age and at a certain age the child is grown, and puts away childish things. We get yet another artsy epigraph, this one courtesy of Edna St. Vincent Millay (oh boy am I not looking forward to the one from Orson Scott Card). Whose lives she’s cutting herself out of forever all for the sake of a man she loves for his looks and has nothing in common with except one musician. Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies....
