“It’s not just stuff.”

Karen Spencer says what she believes any of her co-workers would say about the old tiaras, upholstered chairs, French teacups and the hundreds of other antique items that make up The Grey House.

An American flag flies in front of a small, gray-blue building shrouded by foliage in midtown Tucson. The western wall is mostly covered by a large sign advertising “The Grey House: Antiques and Home Décor.”

Co-owned by five women who all have a passion for antiquing, each of The Grey House’s separate rooms is owned by a different woman who is responsible for the items and presentation in their respective spaces.

“It is one business, but we each respect each other’s area within the building,” Spencer said.

Spencer co-owns two rooms in the Grey House with her friend, Sarah Scheerens. One of the reasons the Grey House is unique, Spencer said, is that the committee of owners makes all the decisions.

“There’s more of a sense of ownership amongst all of us to make it successful,” Spencer said. “You sit behind that desk and you’re not just selling your stuff, you’re selling the store.”

TV Talk this week: 'Game of Thrones,' 'The Killing,' 'Magic City,' more

Every now and then, I'll hear from someone who resurrects Ye Olde Complainte that "television is a waste of time." This is generally followed by such well-weathered observations as, "TV is an insult to the intelligence, and why aren't you writing about BOOKS?"

To which I reply: At any given time, the TV schedule has considerable acreage of vast wasteland, to dust off another vintage expression. But the mere existence of such intelligence-insulting sideshows as "Toddlers & Tiaras " doesn't somehow transform "Mad Men," "Justified," "Community " or any number of terrific series into toxic byproducts.

That would be like saying the existence of "pink slime" means that all foodstuffs are -- well, I'm still not quite sure what pink slime is, but you get the point.

And if someone passed a law that made TV and books mutually exclusive, I'm not aware of that, either.

Intimate nuptials for 'Desperate Housewives' couple Susan and Mike

Mike and Susan Delfino, played by James Denton and Teri Hatcher , made it to the altar on two occasions over seven seasons, making them one of the key couples on the ABC show.

Their second wedding was unexpected, providing inspiration for all brides that dream of an intimate, romantic ceremony with touches of vintage.

Susan’s wedding dress was basic; white with simple lines, a v neck which accentuated the décolletage, and a Greek inspired waistline. The look was completed by an elegant tiara with tiny crystal flowers and a bouquet of long stemmed flowers.

Along with the dress, the decoration of the ceremony was the most talked about part of the unforgettable episode.

The ceremony was set within a forest, surrounded by trees and set under the stars with candles and lanterns, and an altar made of branches and entwined with wild flowers. With only one guest as a witness, the scene truly was the idyllic open air wedding.
