Trends in wedding dress fashion
(WPRI) - Some brides know exactly what dress they’re going to wear on their wedding day and for others, it can be a chaotic nightmare searching through bridal magazines and boutiques, having no clue where to begin.

“The great thing about antique beading is that it’s not so bright, it’s not so bold. You don’t have that shine, but it also has more of that dim, antique feel to it,” said wedding producer Ken Maccarone, owner of KM Design Studio.
Pairing a couture dress with a statement necklace and a bird cage veil will give you a completed look. By wearing the hair up allows the bride to show off the dress.
For the modern bride, Ken suggested a lace dress with a sheer middle piece.
“People a lot of times think modern means being obscure, being something way out there, left field, it’s not. Modern is just being sleek, sophisticated, and simple,” said Maccarone.
Historical Society to host Spring Tea
The LHSs second annual Spring Tea will feature over 100 wedding photos from as far back as the 1880s up to the present day, said Rieker. It will include a luncheon featuring salads, sandwiches and tea provided by Elm Terrace Gardens, which is hosting the Tea and is located at 7th Street and Broad Street, and flower displays provided by Chantilly Floral. There will be a fashion show of bridal attire, some vintage, some old, some new, some of it provided by LHS members and some on loan from people, Rieker said. White dresses came into vogue in the early parts of the 1900s, and by the war years of the 1940s weddings were sometimes informal, held at home, and some brides just wore a suit or suit with a flower corsage, she said. Other vintage wedding items will be on display including prayer books, ring bearers pillows, veils, gloves, and any other headwear that brides may have worn during weddings. Earlier this year, Swift tweeted a photo of herself and friend Claire Kislinger playing dress up in what seemed to be vintage wedding dresses ornamented with strands of pearls. Swift completed her fairytale ensemble with a veil and a pair of oversized sunglasses, while Winter tucked pink flowers into her hair.
The two girls were at it again this week, tugging at their inner little girls as they hit the town adorned in more vintage lace dresses. And this time they were accompanied by two friends — one of whom was Dianna Agron from ‘Glee’ — to celebrate the 77th birthday of actress Shirley MacLaine. “We dressed up full-time fancy and went out in celebration of Shirley MacLaine’s birthday,” Swift shared .
In a series of Instagram photos , Swift and her trio of girlfriends can be seen getting ready to go out, looking nymph-like in their pale hues of pinks and whites. With each girl sporting faux flowers or a dainty hat on her head, they headed out to celebrate. In one photo, the girls look quite pittoresque in their dresses, sitting together in what looks to be a restaurant. Another snapshot caught a plate with a dessert in the corner and “Happy Birthday Shirley MacLaine” scrawled out in chocolate sauce cursive.
